Football Recap: Broncos Edge Struggling Jets in Low-Scoring Affair

During a defensive struggle this weekend, the Broncos clinched a close victory over the winless New York Jets. Quarterback Bo Nix connected on a first-quarter touchdown pass and specialist Wil Lutz provided the game-winning go-ahead field goal to seal the ugly win.

Despite recording nine sacks versus Jets quarterback Justin Fields, the Broncos found themselves trailing 11-10 after conceding a safety in the second half. Interestingly, the Jets could only produce a mere 82 offensive yards during the contest.

Nix, who completed 19 of 30 passes for 174 yards, led a decisive 12-play, 65-yard possession that ended with Lutz's 27-yard field goal with approximately five minutes remaining.

Historic Difficulties for Jets Attack

Despite their dismal performance, the Jets still had possession with a opportunity to drive for a possible victory. But Fields was tackled on fourth down from the Denver 44 when head coach Aaron Glenn opted to go for it rather than calling on specialist Nick Folk for a long field-goal attempt.

Fields had difficulties throughout, completing just 9 of 17 attempts for 45 yards. New York finished with negative ten net yards passing, the lowest in any contest since 1998.

"Our passing game was non-existent," the coach commented following the game.
