I can't bank on three full seasons at Manchester United - Ruben Amorim
United's manager - here being consoled post May's Europa League final defeat - states he is happy by the co-owner's continued commitment but stressed that what lies ahead is unknown in the sport.
The Red Devils' boss the Portuguese coach believes it's crucial the investor publicly shared his long-term thoughts - but says nothing is certain about the future in the sport, let alone three years.
During a discussion with a major publication recently, Ratcliffe stated it might require the manager a three-year period to produce meaningful results at the Theatre of Dreams.
Coming in a period when the coach's tenure has been receiving close inspection following an extended sequence of disappointing results, the comments helped quell some of the immediate pressure.
However, talking ahead of the centenary clash with historic adversaries the Reds at their home ground, the United boss emphasized how what comes next is challenging to anticipate in soccer.
"It's truly positive to hear it but he communicates to me all the time, sometimes with a message post fixtures - but understand, I'm aware and the co-owner recognizes, that soccer doesn't work that way," he commented.
"The most important thing is the following fixture. Regardless of investors, you cannot dictate the next day in football."
Chief executive the club executive has conceded it has required far longer for the head coach to adapt to the English top flight subsequent to his appointment from his former club last November than any person expected.
The Red Devils have secured 10 successes in 34 Premier League matches during Amorim's tenure. They haven't managed consecutive league victories and have not ended a round of league games in the current term above ninth position.
The concerning numbers are stretching belief in the head coach among the United fanbase heading into a run of games their club has been awful in for the last couple of years.
The manager stated he does not feel the doubt inside the club at their training facility and is firm nothing compares to the expectation he places on the team - and in certain ways, he would choose Ratcliffe to avoid attempting to establish serenity because he fears the influence it may create on the players.
"It's not just an item of conversation, I experience it every day," he remarked. "It's truly positive to receive it because it assists our supporters to grasp the management know it is going to take a period.
"But at the same moment, I'm not fond of it because it gives a feeling that we own time to solve problems. I don't wish for that sense in our team.
"The expectation I place on the squad or upon myself is so much bigger [than that from outside]. In the sport, particularly at major teams, you must demonstrate your worth every matchday."
